572 Solitude and silence

Sometimes we need to seek out a quiet place of solitude. It is not the place, woods, or the water, but another quiet place deep within us where the only voice is the still small voice of God. This is the secret recess of a soul that needs the sounds of silence to know once more the presence of God.

1 Kings 19:11-12
Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the
fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence.
