Life is not all as we plan. Sometimes, just when we think we have life all figured out, we are led into a crisis. God, help us to maintain our strength by taking time to rest and restore our soul, that we might be ready when we are called upon to do Your will. We ask God not to allow us to slip nor to envy nor to fall. When we do, we ask God to remind us that we need only to seek Him for answers.

We are easily dawdled or cast our gaze elsewhere and, distracted by the warmth or discomforts, gone astray. Let us ask God to guide and encourage our footsteps along the narrow road so that we will be no longer side-tracked by worldly attractions.

For all that is in the world -- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions -- is not from the Father but is from the world. God, help us to incline our hearts to Your will and fill us with your understanding so that we can stay out of sin’s grasp.
