Thoughts#3373
God
is holy, His nature is holy. He is pure and loving in His works. This also
means God does not sin; He can not violate His nature and sin. Evil does not
come from the hand of God.
Since God is
holy, we should be holy. As the Bible tells us, “it is written, be ye holy; for
I am holy”. We must remember this does not mean we are sinless, or that once
saved will never sin again. But instead through the sacrifice of Jesus at the
Cross of Calvary He imputed His righteousness to our account and therefore we should
want to grow in our holiness as we build our relationship with Christ and grow
in our love for one another.
1st Peter 1:15, 16
But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy.”
Psalm 99:9
Exalt the Lord our God, And worship at His holy hill; For the Lord our God is holy.
Psalm 145:17
The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
Isaiah 6:3
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
Revelation 4:8
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
