Make our requests known
When we pray, we ask God to grant us patience in our petitions. We ask God to help us to take time to think about what we choose to pray for, and to ask accordingly. God knows our deepest need, He knows our prayers before we even start to send them.
2 Chronicles 1:7
On that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, "Ask! What shall I give you?"

And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
James 4:3
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
