Trust and obey
King Saul made extravagant sacrifices rather than simply doing what God told him to do. Many times we pull the same stunt !!. God tells us to do something that we do not want to do. Instead, we sacrifice time, money or whatever, hoping we would not have to do what we do not want to do.
It is easier to trust God’s instructions and just obey Him from the start
1 Samuel 15 : 22
But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord : your burnt offerings and sacrifice or your obedience to his voice ? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. Listening to him is much better than offering the fat of rams.”
