As a Christian, there should be a change in one's life. We must rid ourselves of immorality so that we can put on the new self. So it is out with the old, and in with the new. If the old does not get put out, there can be no room for the new to come in. If my faith is in Jesus, then my conduct should reflect that faith. I do not continue to live a life of immorality and still claim to be a Christian. It cannot be, because the old self should be taken off and the new put on.
Colossians 3:8-10
But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
