You have ‘down times’ when news seems to come regularly of someone facing health issues, financial difficulties or when lives have been altered and plans and dreams shattered. Calls for prayers came pouring in. We have ‘down times’ at one time or another. They are part and parcel of our journey of life. These are valleys of despair, valleys of sorrow, valleys of sadness and loneliness, valleys of sickness and valleys of the shadow of death. The 23rd Psalm gives us calm during moments of our ‘down times’ "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, You are with me, Your rod and staff comfort me." God is always walking with us as we walk through each ‘down time’ in life. HE is there when we are in trouble. HE is the one who will bring peace and rest. During our ‘down times’ we feel hopeless and helpless. It is during these times that we must rely on HIM. We must not run from God in our anguish and confusion. We must not run from God in our pain and tears. We must turn to HIM and HE will give us help, strength, comfort and hope.

The Lord is my shepherd
