The sound mind principle

It is about God’s will for our lives.

It refers to the manner in which we seek the work God wanted us to do as well as the organization and manner in which we are to serve God. This refers to the mindset which is under the control of the Holy Spirit. It involves the practice of determining God's wisdom and direction through use of our mind filled with God's Word, instead of relying only on emotional impressions. Though God often leads us through impressions, He generally expects us to use our "sound minds."

When you have an important decision to make, list all the positive and negative factors and consider them against what God's Word has to say about the matter - directly or indirectly. Make your decision on the basis of what seems obvious, unless God specifically leads you to the contrary.

2 Timothy 1 : 7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
